Sidal, Inc. was founded by brothers Sid and Al Ruckriegel in 1987 with the opening of our first Rally’s Hamburgers franchise in Terre Haute, Indiana. The success of this initial venture served as the cornerstone for additional Rally’s stores throughout the state of Indiana and northeastern and central Illinois.

In 1991, recognizing the exceptional sales and growth potential of the emerging Papa John’s Pizza chain, our company took advantage of the opportunity to become a franchisee by opening our first store in Peoria, Illinois. Sidal, Inc. currently owns and operates Papa John’s Pizza restaurants in central Illinois and northwestern Indiana.

In 2002 Sidal, Inc. acquired Jojo’s Restaurant and Bakery located in Evansville, Indiana.  Jojo’s is a West Coast style restaurant featuring a full array of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail menu items.  The Jojo’s menu also offers a complete selection of freshly baked pies and desserts that are available for dine-in and carry-out orders.  Originally established in 1980, the facility was completely rebuilt after an airplane crash demolished the restaurant on February 6, 1992.  This addition to the Sidal family enhances the opportunity to expand our operating platform.

Today, while maintaining a hands-on approach to operations, Al and Sid Ruckriegel concentrate their efforts on store operations, sales growth and development of both concepts. Their focused vision has achieved remarkable results in the areas of site selection, employee training, marketing and product quality. As an up-and-coming leader in the food service industry, Sidal, Inc. is committed to future expansion and development.
